The handyPC design has been developed and patents have been filed taking in account user habits and ergonomic aspects.
The unique selling points of the handyPC design:

• Touchpad as mouse replacement

These advantages create a spontaneous and lasting acceptance of the user, which is quite contrary to the experience users have, when using existing devices as demonstrated on the following pages.

Disadvantages of other devices

Comparing the complete devices designs, shows that actual devices of leading brands have severe disadvantages compared to ROAD's handyPC.

Disadvantages of other display formats

We want to take the Internet as an example, as this computer application is, without a doubt, interesting - even important - for everybody. The simple and exemplary comparison of an eBay web page on different displays of existing devices shows that they simply do not offer practicable mobile internet use. They lack the common clarity, the characters become too small and the devices too large.

Disadvantages of other keyboard layouts

The keyboard situation is quite similar: spontaneous access to the usual applications like messaging or word processing is only possible with a PC- or notebook computer layout. The mouse as second input device is replaced by a touchpad.
